Tesco recalls Tesco Celery, Fruit and Nut Salad because of undeclared mustard

Why it was recalled

Tesco is recalling its Celery, Fruit and Nut Salad because the dressing contains mustard that is not mentioned on the label. Mustard is one of the fourteen allergens UK law requires to be declared, and dressed salads are a classic place for it to appear unannounced.

For someone with a mustard allergy, a fruit-and-nut salad reads as safe territory, which is exactly what makes an undeclared dressing ingredient hazardous.
