Tesco recalls Tesco Grape & Berry Medley because of contamination with salmonella
Why it was recalled
Tesco is recalling its Grape & Berry Medley after salmonella was found in the product. Fresh fruit pots are eaten straight from the pack without washing or cooking, so a positive test leads directly to a recall.
Salmonella typically causes fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps. Most healthy people recover within a few days, but the infection passes easily between people, so anyone with symptoms should stay away from work, school or nursery until 48 hours after they stop.
