Tesco recalls Tesco Finest Festive Belgian Dark Chocolate Brazil Nuts because of undeclared sulphur dioxide

Why it was recalled

Tesco is recalling a batch of Tesco Finest Festive Belgian Dark Chocolate Brazil Nuts. The product has been incorrectly packed with Tesco Finest Festive Fruit and Nut Selection which contains sulphur dioxide that is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites. The correctly packed Tesco Finest Festive Fruit and Nut Selection product is not affected by this recall.

What you should do

If you have bought the above incorrectly packed product and have a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought or if preferred, contact Tesco’s Customer Helpline on 0800 505 555 for a full refund without returning the product to store.

Action taken by the business

Tesco is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a recall notice to its customers, which explains to customers why the product is being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the product.
