Farmfoods recalls Farmfoods Ultimate Keralan Chicken Curry because of undeclared prawns
Why it was recalled
Farmfoods is recalling its Ultimate Keralan Chicken Curry because the dish contains prawns that are not mentioned on the label. Keralan cooking does often combine chicken and seafood, but a shopper buying what is labelled a chicken curry has no reason to expect crustaceans.
Shellfish allergies are among the most severe adult food allergies, and curry sauces hide their ingredients completely, so the label was the only line of defence.
Allergens involved: Crustaceans
