Tesco recalls various Tesco Pates because of incorrect use-by dates

Why it was recalled

Tesco is recalling various Tesco-branded pâtés because packs were printed with an incorrect use-by date. Pâté is a chilled, ready-to-eat product where storage time is a genuine safety control, so a wrong date creates a real microbiological risk rather than a paperwork problem.

A pack that appears comfortably within date could in fact be past the point where bacteria such as listeria become a concern, and neither look nor smell is a reliable guide with pâté.

If you have Tesco pâté in the fridge, check it against the affected product list and do not rely on the printed date. Covered products should not be eaten; return them to the store for a full refund.
