Waitrose recalls Waitrose and Partners Egg and Spinach Protein Pot because of possible contamination with Salmonella
Why it was recalled
Waitrose is recalling its Egg and Spinach Protein Pot because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. Protein pots are chilled, ready-to-eat products aimed at gym-goers and lunchtime shoppers, eaten straight from the pack with no cooking step.
Salmonella infection typically brings fever, diarrhoea and stomach cramps, and passes within days for most people, but spreads easily; anyone with symptoms should stay away from work, school or nursery until 48 hours after they stop.
