Update 2: Nestlé recalls several SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula because of the presence of cereulide (toxin)

Why it was recalled

Nestlé has extended its recall of SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula: one additional batch, distributed only within Northern Ireland, has been added to the affected list.

The reason remains the presence of cereulide, a toxin made by certain Bacillus cereus bacteria. It is highly heat-stable, so boiling water and normal bottle preparation do not destroy it, and it can cause rapid-onset nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps. The recall applies even if your baby has shown no signs of illness.
