Update 2: McCormack Family Farms recalls Spinach and Mixed Leaves products because of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes
Why it was recalled
McCormack Family Farms has extended its spinach and mixed leaves recall a second time, adding further products and batches to the affected list after Listeria monocytogenes was found. Items new to this update are marked in the official table.
Bagged leaves are eaten raw by design, so listeria in salad has no cooking step to stop it. The illness usually looks like flu, but can be severe for over-65s, pregnant women, newborns and the immunocompromised.
