Update 1 Food Alert "For Action": To: Consumers who have purchased and Food Businesses who have purchased and sold Jolly Rancher products manufactured by The Hershey Company
Why it was recalled
The FSA has extended its Food Alert for Action on Jolly Rancher sweets made by The Hershey Company, adding Jolly Rancher Filled Pops and Freeze Dried Candy to the list. The products contain Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH), which makes them unsafe to eat under UK rules.
MOAH can damage DNA and may increase cancer risk, particularly with regular or heavy consumption over time; regulators treat no level of exposure as risk-free. The concern is greatest for children, who are the main consumers of these sweets. Importers and retailers have been told to stop selling them.
