Seggiano recalls two nougat products because of undeclared milk and soy lecithin
Why it was recalled
Seggiano is recalling two of its torrone nougat products: the Chocolate Covered Torrone contains soy lecithin, and the Pistachio and Chocolate Covered Torrone contains both milk and soy lecithin, none of which is mentioned on the labels.
Italian-style confectionery often contains both ingredients, but the law requires each to be declared. For anyone with a milk allergy or intolerance, or a soya allergy, an unlabelled nougat bar is a hidden risk, particularly as products like these are often bought as gifts.

What you should do
If you have bought the above products and have an allergy to milk or soya do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store you purchased them from for a full refund. For more information, please call the Consumer Care Line on 0207 272 5588 or contact [email protected]
What this means for you
If you or anyone who might eat these nougats reacts to milk or soya, do not eat them, and remember that gifted food may not come with a receipt; the recall covers returns regardless. Take affected products back to the store for a full refund, or contact Seggiano's consumer care line by phone or email. The official FSA notice carries the authoritative product details and instructions.
Action taken by the business
Seggiano is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see the attached notice.
