Nestlé recalls several SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula as a precaution because of the possible presence of cereulide (toxin)
Why it was recalled
Nestlé is recalling several SMA Infant Formula and Follow-On Formula products as a precaution because they may contain cereulide, a toxin produced by certain strains of Bacillus cereus bacteria.
Cereulide is highly heat-stable: boiling water and standard bottle preparation do not destroy it. If consumed it can cause rapid-onset nausea, vomiting and stomach cramps. Because the affected products are for babies, the recall applies even where infants have shown no signs of illness; stopping use is essential either way.

Instead, share a photo of the product and the batch code via https://www.nestle.co.uk/en-gb/getintouch or call the careline on 0800 0 81 81 80 for a refund. If you have fed this product to a baby and have any concerns about potential health impact, you should seek advice from healthcare professionals, using the most appropriate route depending on where you live, (i.e., visit your GP, call NHS111).
