Aldi recalls PYB02 PANATAS Part-Baked 6 Pack Custard Tarts because of undeclared allergens
Why it was recalled
Aldi is recalling PANATAS Part-Baked Custard Tarts, a 6-pack, because the labelling omits an unusually long list of allergens: the tarts contain egg, milk and wheat, and may also contain hazelnuts, sesame and soya.
With six allergen groups affected, including the gluten that matters to coeliacs, this labelling failure exposes a wide range of allergic consumers, and part-baked products add a twist: they sit in cupboards or freezers until baking day.
Allergens involved: Egg, Gluten, Hazelnut, Milk, Nuts, Sesame, Soya, Wheat
